Funerals

At the death of his dear friend, Lazarus, Jesus wept.  And then he brought him back to life.  Knowing this, we are assured that Jesus understands our sorrow when a loved one dies.  Because Jesus conquered death and the grave with His own bodily resurrection, we also have the assurance that all who place their trust in Him will likewise be raised to eternal life.

Even with this assurance, we are filled with sorrow at the death of a loved one.  The Christian funeral and burial enable us to receive comfort and support from our family and friends.  It also gives us the opportunity to celebrate the  victory our
heavenly Father has given us through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.  And it serves as an opportunity to witness to others of God's love for us through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
