Coaching Opportunities

Coaching Commissioner (2 positions open; 1 cheerleading, 1 flag football):

Coach Commissioners qualify, recruit, train, evaluate, oversee and encourage coaches for their respective divisions.

Coaches (Coach and assistant coaches needed for each team of cheerleaders and flag football):

The coach is the key component to fulfilling the mission of Upward: "To introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports."

The Upward coach understands that winning is more than a game. Coaches convey Christ through his/her actions and attitudes.

Coaches teach the fundamentals of flag football/ cheerleading, using drills and routines to emphasize skill development.

Coaches are responsible for attending training, practices and games. A typical flag football practice includes warm-up, practice of skills and drills, devotions, scrimmage, post-practice meeting. Typical cheerleading practice includes warm up and stretching activities, review, devotions, teaching of new material and post-practice meeting.

Coaches will become familiar with the unique Upward Flag Football and cheerleading format and rules.
