Referee Commissioner (1 position open; flag football): The Referee Commissioner role is a critical leadership role and very influential in the Upward Experience of each participant. The Referee Commissioner qualifies, recruits, trains, evaluates, oversees and encourages referees. |
Referees (2 referees per game x number of
games on Saturdays during the flag football season): Upward referees encourage each player during the game; convey Christ to players through his/her actions and attitudes; promote fun and sportsmanship. Upward referees have the knowledge and confidence to oversee the game; serve as on-the-field coaches; are students of the game. Upward referees commit to attending a training session prior to the season's start and should be available to referee Saturday games throughout the 8-week season. (This is an ideal way to help with Upward for those who have interest but cannot make the time commitment necessary to coach a flag football team.) |
