Our Mission and Vision
With a passion and obedience to the command Jesus gave us to reach the lost for Him, we dedicate ourselves to "Making and Maturing Disciples for Ministry and Mission" through Devotion to the Word, Support of Families, and Developing Meaningful and Lasting Relationships.
With God's help and grace, St. Luke has a vision for becoming a church He wants us to be--the church that was modeled in Acts, Chapter Two. To this end, we are devoted to the following:
Living and maturing in the Word of God.
Developing meaningful and lasting relationships with each other--not phony, not fake, not shallow relationships--meaningful and lasting.
Caring for one another in small groups of Caring Communities.
Making the unbeliever the primary target, of making the unchurched who may believe but who are disconnected from the Church the primary mission. Nothing is more important than that--not even the members who are already here.
Strengthening the family of today, in whatever definition family might be, in the will and in the love of God.
In keeping with the vision of the Acts 2 church, at St. Luke one would hope and expect to find people who are:
More than members--they are disciples, and they understand the difference. They do more than just work for the church, they are in the ministry of the church.
More concerned about the people who are being developed than about the programs being produced or the traditions being served.
Consistent in displaying real, genuine, honest-to-goodness love in action--not just talk--where they display sincerity in faith (nothing fake about it), and where you sense joy and celebration in worship--not just going through the motions.
St. Luke is church and school that is traditional but timely, confessional but courageous. St. Luke is a church after God's own heart. We invite you to be a purposeful part of this vision.
