8:15 am - Early Afternoon
Mission Trip
Destination: St. Luke Cabot
A community mission trip will happen in the parking lt of St. Luke Lutheran Church and School and you are invited to participate. On Saturday, September 21st from 8:15 am. to early afternoon, one house and two "tiny" houses will be framed in the school parking lot. This year the walls will be taken down, loaded on a truck, and will stay in the local area. In partnership with Center for Community Resources in Butler, the 1,500 square foot house will be completed in Natrona Heights. One tiny house will be completed and placed in the Cabot area, and the other will be taken to Clarion County for veterans. Sounds like fun, sounds a little crazy, sounds like a day of serving.
St. Luke Lutheran Church, Concordia Community Support Services, and Center for Community Resources is pleased to be working with Crossroads Missions - Help Build Hope based in Louisville, Kentucky on this project. Set aside one day and join us at St. Luke for a day of reaching out and serving others. No experience necessary. Come and work as a family, an individual, or a group of anyone from ages 5 to 95.

Prepare and pack 100 bags for mothers and newborns with socks, diapers, washcloths, baby bottles and more. Kits will be given to area pregnancy centers.

Dress-A-Girl

Bright, colorful dresses will be cut out and sewn for girls in impoverished areas. Material must be cut, thread sorted, and dresses sewn. Sewers and non-sewers are encouraged to come. There is something for everyone to do.

Making Greeting
Cards
Christmas cards, birthday cards, anniversary cards and more will be put together with messages written in them for the military and their families.

Fleece Blankets
Every family receives a fleece blanket during their stay at Ronald McDonald House. Join us as blankets are ties to be given to families and children during a difficult time.
Bible Verse Marking
What a way to be a witness of the Gospel! Spend some time highlighting special verses that point to the message of salvation.

Knit / Crochet Blankets
for Newborn Babies
Help prepare and pack a dry minestrone soup mix into freezer bags. The soup mix will be given to St. Luke Food Pantry, Katie's Kitchen, and other area food distributions.
Experienced knitters and those who crochet, spend your day starting and maybe completing an infant blanket. All yarn and patterns will be supplied - just bring your favorite knitting needles or crochet hooks. After the blankets are finished, they will be given to area hospitals for newborns.
Boys and girls, this is your special spot. You can take a break and make a special bookmark, key chain, and much more that will be given to area shelters and food pantries for children's gifts.
