Lutheran Women in Mission
The mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God-given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.
St. Luke women can participate in many LWML activities throughout the year. Some of these opportunities are:
Collect used stamps for Canadian Bible translators. Click on the link to learn more about Lutheran Bible Translators.
Collect donations in the MITES boxes for local and synod ministries ranging from providing food for starving children, supporting veterans, distributing books worldwide, and many more opportunities.
The Gospel Outreach Program encourages women to share their faith with people in their communities and throughout the world.
Collect used laser jet and ink jet cartridges (do not accept fax printing film, printing ribbons, or toner tubes for copiers), cell phones, pagers, PDAs, DVD video games, portable players, Ipods, MP3 players, digital cameras, laptop computers, GPS systems, scientific calculators, tablets, e-readers and Ipads, to be used for mission fund raising. The collection bins are in the Resource Room and in the gym lobby.
St. Luke LWML sponsors a Dress-A-Girl-Around-The-World group.
The Pittsburgh Zone LWML has Spring and Fall board meetings, a Spring Rally/Joy Shop, and a Fall Rally.
