Servant Day/House Build

This year on April 20th, St. Luke again sponsored a community wide Easter Egg hunt for children of all ages.  Approximately 8 people formed the committee who filled and hid over 1200 eggs for the nearly 300 children who attended. There was an Easter devotional as well as crafts and activities, which took place before the egg hunt. The adults as well as the children had a great time. People donated empty plastic eggs, candy, and plastic eggs  already filled with candy. Watch for next year's Easter Egg Hunt if you want to learn more about this event or want to volunteer, by calling the church office at 724-352-2777.

St. Luke has one dedicated weekend, usually in September, where we have a mission field in our own backyard.  This year's Servant Day / House Build took place on Saturday, September 21st, 2019.  There were countless hours of organization and prep work to make this event happen.  Keep watching updates about the next Servant Day/House Build.  Registration forms will be  available on line as well as in the church at several locations.

St. Luke supports this Christmas ministry as a mission outreach for local underprivileged children in the Butler area.  Paper mittens with gift requests are placed in the pockets of the trees beginning in November.  Congregants take a mitten and purchase the requested gift. The unwrapped gifts and mittens are returned to the church in December, where a dedicated team of volunteers wraps and labels all of the gifts.  The gifts are distributed at a dinner where the children and their families hear the story of the Birth of Christ.  Volunteers are needed to type requests, organize, wrap, shop and deliver gifts.  This ministry helps to brighten Christmas for these children, while relating the reason for the celebration. If you would like to learn more about this ministry or volunteer to help, please contact Monica Rummel through the church office at 724-352-2777.
